An Interesting Venture

I lifted this from a thread on the Warrior Forum, which, in turn, had been lifted from somewhere else. I thought it might make interesting reading…………..

"1. Do some research and find a lucrative niche. One that Adsense pays well for every click (aim for average click worth of 15 cents or more – per click)
for some ideas look at http://random9.com/Googlest-site/index.htm
(I recommend to stay away from "internet marketing" and "make money" stuff and focus on mainstream stuff that regular people need – products, holidays, services. Paul’s wedding dresses "niche" is exactly what I refer to.

2. Use wordtracker and Google Adwords keyword tool to make sure the
niche is wide enough (i.e. lots of people are looking for info in this field) and to come up with an initial list of keywords (200-500 keywords is good). Again, the Wedding niche scores high here – lots of "regular" people are looking for info and subsequently buy and spend money, which menas Adsense click yield can be expected be good.

3. Build a SIMPLE landing page with 200-300 words of real content on the subject and 3 Adsense elements (I use 2 728×90 leader boards both at the top and the bottom and a 160×600 vertical banner as a right side banner. what happens is your text is now SURROUNDED by about 12-15 potential Adsense links. To save time and $ You don’t have to register a new domain, just build the page on www.yourdomain.com/yournewniche.html. If a niche works out to be profitable, you can always purchase a domain for it later. but for testing purposes using your existing site is fine.

4. Adapt Adsense ads to blend well with your page color scheme. This is important for your "converison" i.e. percentage of visitors that will click on one of the Adsense links.
With 3 well blended Adsense elements on your page – you can expect around 50% clickthorugh, 20-25% for top and side bars, and around 5%-10% for the bottom bar.
(see figures below). Use a separate Adsense channel for each banner to track clickthroughs and ROI’s.

6. Write several good ads on Google adwords directing traffic
DIRECTLY to the new page. Direct both Visible URL and Actual URL
to www.yourdomain.com/yournewniche.html

7. Choose your target audience on Google Adwords (countries, languages, content, search partners)
but don’t be too picky. you can always exclude later.
TIP: European clicks, especially (but not only) UK traffic
is sometimes worth much more to advertisers than US traffic. Think globally. Again, the Wedding example is good – people are getting married everywhere, so why not target all English speaking countries( UK, Australia, Canada, Ireland, NZ, South Africa)
as well as the rest of the European Union (Scandinavian countries as well as Holland, Switzerland & Belgium are absolutely great. Germany, Spain, France and Italy are usually OK). Less success with Asian markets so far, but I wouldn’t ignore the more advanced countries such as Japan, Hong-kong, Singapore, South Korea. In some niches you could also target developing nations.

8. Use your keyword list from stage 2 and set your max CPC to the Google minimum of $0.05.

9. Login to both adwords and adsense accounts after 24 hours. If things went your way Adsense revenue is now more than Adwords Expense. You are now basically sitting on a small ($5-$10 per day)
autopilot money machine.

10. Expand your money machine – Optimize Ads on Adwords and expand Keyword list to get more traffic. Look at additional sources of CHEAP PPC traffic (Findwhat, enhance, goclick etc. and perhaps Overture as well – if you can turn a profit over their minimum of 10 cents per click)

11. Drop your losers. If after 400 clicks or so you’re still in the red (that means you spent $20 and made less on Adsense) drop it. If you broke even – tweak and try again. If you’re still breaking even – drop it. Kill your losers and let your winners run forever.

12. Not every niche or sub-niche will be successful, but if a niche
doesn’t turn a profit – you’ll know it within a couple of days and move on. If it is successful – you’re on an initial net $100-$200 monthly stream.

13. Repeat this process again and again.
Get 20 of those successful niche landing pages up and running (I believe that it could be done in 2-3 months or even less if you’re not working full time), and you’re on a $2000-$4000 net, self-generating, monthly income – for some people this is enough to leave their JOB.
If this is not enough for you to quit your job, then wait until you have 50 pages.

This is a real example of one of my "successful" sub-niche pages – these are 3 day stats for ONE landing page as described above.
I hope I’m not braking too many rules by publishing these numbers.

As you see – I made $20 on this page in 3 days. If this trend will continue – I’ll be making $200 per month (perpetually!) on about a couple of hours worth of work. This, as thousands of other niches, is NOT saturated by Internet Marketing sharks or Clickbank super affiliates, so there no reason to expect dramatic increase in Adwords competition in the short term. Remeber you are paying only $0.05 (and constantly optimizing your ads and CTR) while some of your "competitors" are less knowledgeable – they aim for pole position – and bid $1 or more per click.

Adwords Expenses:
=================
Max CPC $0.05
Clicks 352
Impressions: 110,521
CTR 0.3% (I’m working on improving this…)
Avg. CPC $0.05
Total Cost: $16.99

Adsense Revenues:
=================

I hope this is inspring you to take action, and I wish everyone lots of success!

Love and Light,
Tamarz."
